A few weeks prior to the wedding we will arrange a meeting, either in person or over the telephone, to discuss with you all the plans for the day so that you know exactly what you will get from our service. We will also talk about the production of your DVD.
You can add your favorite music to the DVD. It must be provided at least one week before the wedding on CD as MP3 files. Music is very important and editing cannot begin without it as the songs to be included in the video are very personal. We can pick the music ourselves but as it's a taste thing, we're sure you'd rather have the songs you like. A PPL License will be covered by Distinctivevideos.com at no extra cost.
All our packages are completely customizable, should you wish to change any of the features. Please refer to the individual price list on the Packages and Prices page.
We will ensure that we arrive at the venue well beforehand to film the surroundings, architecture, details and the guests arriving.
We use only HD cameras to film your wedding and high spec PCs to produce the final product, meaning your wedding video will look incredible. The DVD with be in standard definition. Blu-ray authoring will be available soon.
Our camera men are experienced and creative, knowing how to get a good shot.
We use tripods, monopods, steadycam, as well as handheld techniques, but don’t worry; you won’t see any shaky, badly framed or poorly exposed shots on our DVDs!
The reason we use those techniques is to add variety to your film. If we were to only use tripod shots, the resulting video could look lifeless. Likewise, if we were to only use hand held footage, the video could look too wobbly and unprofessional. So, by using a variety of techniques you get a more complete feeling DVD.
We are discreet and unobtrusive, with a ‘fly-on-the-wall’ style approach and cover the events of the day carefully, making sure we capture all those moments that make the day so special.
If you’d like something fun and different to add to your video, we can arrange posed shots or sequences, such as walking hand in hand or looking into each others eyes.... Whatever you like.
If you wish and if it’s practical, we can use wireless microphones to record the speeches to improve the sound quality. You can rest assured that we carry backup equipment at all times, should the worst happen. We also fully insured.
Our editor is a professional freelance video editor with experience in broadcasting. His work has appeared on the BBC (including the last series of Doctor Who Confidential), ITV, Channel 4, S4C, MTV and SKY News. He has also worked on corporate vides for large corporations such as SONY, Nissan and the European Central Bank. He is very creative with a good sense of style, timing and feel and will ensure the best quality productions.
We will try to show a good cross section of the guests in the video, but as you can appreciate, it would be impossible to ensure that each friend and relative is featured in the video. However, if you would like to feature certain guests then we must be told about this on the day or before and these persons must be clearly identified to us.
The duration of the final film is usually between an hour to an hour and a half.
